Supporting Every Ability

Aussie IT Services is a forward-thinking social enterprise based in Southeast Queensland, dedicated to empowering people with disabilities through technology. Our innovative IT training programs help participants build real-world skills, grow their confidence, and connect socially in supportive learning environments.

Every aspect of our program is carefully aligned with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Impairment Categories, ensuring that each participant receives supports directly linked to their eligible impairments as defined under the NDIS Act.

  • 🧠 Intellectual

Structured, step-by-step lessons help participants with intellectual disabilities develop essential computer and workplace skills. With patient guidance and repetition, learners gain confidence, independence, and pride in their progress through hands-on, real-world activities.

  • 🧩 Cognitive

Participants strengthen memory, focus, and problem-solving through guided computer-based tasks and real-shop simulations. The course promotes structured learning and supports executive functioning, helping participants apply new skills to daily life and work environments.

  • Neurological

For participants with neurological conditions, the program provides flexible, paced learning to support coordination, concentration, and confidence. Hands-on computer repairs and diagnostics improve fine motor control and cognitive processing, helping learners build independence and employability.

  • 👁️ Sensory

The course environment is inclusive and adaptable for participants with sensory impairments, including vision or hearing loss. Through sensory-friendly settings, learners can confidently build IT, communication, and problem-solving skills in a supportive community space.

  • 💪 Physical

Fully accessible workstations and adaptive tools allow participants with physical impairments to participate equally. The focus is on capability and engagement — building technical and customer service skills that promote confidence, independence, and work readiness in real-life IT settings.

  • 💬 Psychosocial

A calm, structured learning environment helps participants with psychosocial disabilities rebuild routine, self-esteem, and teamwork skills. Through customer service practice and group interaction, the course supports social connection, emotional wellbeing, and greater community participation.

Clear pathways toward supported or open employment

1. Cognitive Skill Development:
Participants engage in structured computer-based learning that promotes concentration, problem-solving, and memory recall. Activities such as diagnosing computer faults, completing sales tasks, and following step-by-step procedures help strengthen executive functioning and working memory in a practical, real-world context.

2. Fine Motor and Coordination Practice:
Hands-on tasks like assembling computer components, connecting cables, and using tools help improve fine motor control and coordination. These activities are performed in a supportive setting where participants can work at their own pace with adaptive equipment if required.

3. Confidence and Self-Efficacy Building:
The course simulates a genuine retail and workshop environment, giving participants opportunities to practice communication, teamwork, and customer service in a safe space. Achieving small, progressive goals builds confidence and a sense of achievement.

4. Fatigue and Sensory Management:
Training is designed to be flexible, allowing for rest breaks and pacing to accommodate fatigue or sensory sensitivity. The environment can be adjusted to meet sensory needs (e.g. lighting, sound levels, seating comfort).

5. Social Connection and Community Inclusion:
Group activities encourage peer interaction, teamwork, and social engagement — vital for individuals who may have become isolated due to their condition. These experiences promote inclusion and belonging within a supportive community setting.

6. Pathways to Employment and Independence:
By learning both technical and customer-facing skills, participants gain competencies relevant to entry-level IT support, retail, or administrative roles. The focus on practical experience helps translate new skills directly into real-world opportunities, fostering long-term independence and employability.
